steel torils & stands

When making the stands I sometimes try to use a little of the Orient in the designs that I come up with, and yet have the stands still can be put into someone’s back yard in the big city and it wouldn’t seem out of place. I also like to try and combine both wood and steel together because at times they both can compliment each other, or if I need to I will keep the steel and wood separate and build stands just using one or the other. Here again I use the heating and brassing look to the steel and then spray automotive polyurethane. On the wood I usually use Thompsons Water Seal to help protect the wood.
